Roundup: PPT

Post by Modrageball »

Condensed from the hanging Gad-Review threads.

This is going to be a big ol' wall of text, and likely not a huge priority. I'm leaving the Mega-PPT Thread alone, because that's its own separate thing and likely higher-priority due to the narrative weight of the megaquest, the importance of those involved, and likelihood of the survivors (some of which are unclear) to show up again soon.

Lyr Bardol (Undefined, Undefined)
(May Not Exist)
A member of the Entombers, and the superweapon of Sol Bardol... or would have been. May or may not exist in the main timeline due to things getting slightly off-track with Anathema killing Sol early in the scheme of things for the crime of boasting about being better at causing death, and the Entombers being all about not coming back from death.
Lyr is, or would be, built to kill the Ascendants with his Perpetual Atrocity Engine, capable of pulling ridiculous Entomber tech-boosts out of nowhere. Lyr operates as a cyclic philosophical zombie, with a core that accepts a soul, brings life and perspective into itself, then self-annihilates, allowing one moment of awareness to itself before restarting the process, running through the well of souls available to the multiverse. Its skillset involves resurrection prevention, gear destruction / mass-sunder, Robots, explosive-type thrown weapons, Hammers and stake-type ammo for Hammers, self-upgrading, taking advantage of destroyed effects, non-undoable buff/debuff-converstion, automated attack-routines that sacrifice choice for massive action piles, massive bonuses upon killing unique things, and inbuilt-items that don't occupy slots / cybernetics / grafts.
Sol Bardol (Human, Level 39)
(Deceased)
"A second Entomber, this one in some modified version of the group's armor made from shiny silver metal with dimly-glowing red cores in the mouths of the skulls and a hole in the back of the mask for his long, red hair to flow down from"
An Entomber that holds a special place in the Order of the Silent Hall, not for his strength, but for his unique abilities. Killed by Anathema when he tried to prove the supremacy of his order's brand of death to the undead arena member who vastly outmatched him through part of some machination involving Hugo Bekkler.
Addendum: Decreed to be an 'absolutely massive dick, one of the biggest' by the Highest of Powers.
Santooth: Who's Lyr
[1:50 AM] Gadigan: Good question! Hasn't been asked yet despite her/it being on the list with Sol's last name
[1:50 AM] Gadigan: The Ascension boss list I handed you, that is
[1:50 AM] Gadigan: Contains 'Lyr Bardol'
[1:50 AM] Santooth: THE entomber?
[1:50 AM] Gadigan: Not quite, even though eventually yes
[1:50 AM] Gadigan: Lyr is Sol's superweapon
[1:51 AM] Gadigan: His perpetual atrocity engine
[1:51 AM] Gadigan: Built to kill the Ascendants
[1:51 AM] Gadigan: (And the main root behind his ability to pull absolute bullshit Entomber tech-boosts despite not being one of the higher-Level ones)
[1:52 AM] Gadigan: Lyr operates as a cyclic philosophical zombie, with a core that accepts a soul, brings life and perspective into itself, then self-annihilates, allowing one moment of awareness to itself before restarting the process, running through the well of souls available to the multiverse
[1:52 AM] Santooth: Sol seemed like a dick
[1:52 AM] Gadigan: Sol is an absolutely massive dick, one of the biggest

One With Nothing (Draconics Echo Providence Quest)

People

Ser <NameValueNotAssigned> the Carp Knight the Carp Knight (Aquatic & Humanoid, Level 60) Reference Link
"The carp is brought forth from the pond and elevated. It gains legs and arms, grows to human-size, and acquires carp-themed armor as the Vashnas and Roulette Masters of the round dub it officially a Knight.
The carp knight has an expression of surprise on its face, which the bulging eyes make somewhat more amusing than might normally be the case. It looks at the metal not-a-sword-but-a-fish it holds, looks at its helm, looks at Draconics, and kneels in reverent awe."

An entity created by Draconics during his visit to Echo Providence, uplifted from a mere Aerial Pondfish into a member of the Empty Order. (And provided with a crafted personal history declaring it as having joined such). Possesses the potential to cast potent wishes by consuming currency, an ability that was considerably amped by its forced consumption of a Triplehyperplatinum Grand Guardian (and became considerably more powerful and stable as a result).

Wind-Dancer of the Airless Plaza (Undefined, Level 80) Reference Link
"A graceful figure, adorned with mask"
An entity created by Draconics through reality-glitches in order to help the Dancers of the Airless Plaza in Echo Providence communicate through means other than returned scan results. While integrated into the area, it seems to be a distinct entity in its own right (as well as an anchor-point for possible future resurrection-attempts for its creator).

Places

(Nexus Portal Nexus)

->->->Portal to Echo Providence Reference Link
"The room starts like a normal Portal Nexus chamber, but then decays into a wireframe mesh of one, with the portal being a half-black, half-white oval with no depth slapped onto the back wall."
The portal to Echo Providence. It's difficult to locate if you don't know it exists, or can't detect Null-element.

Echo Providence's entry gains:
It tends to have glitchy monsters in the 60-89 range, with some variance by sub-region, but is mostly one big, empty city. Its streets are black and white, and glitches occur amidst their mazy passages. There aren't fast-travel spots like in Nexus proper, and traversing Echo Providence would be deadly for most people. As of its last appearance, it contains 15 dungeons, 20 other assorted locations, the main elevator, and the Nihilarchitects' base.Much of the top disc here does shift in form and structure as glitch-waves wash over it and bits of it fade in or out of shadows of buildings that are or aren't there, but that the key locations tend to remain stable in roughly the same spots - the exit to this portal included (except when a particular twice-yearly glitch moves it to one of two other spots).

(Echo Providence)

->->->->Dancers' Plaza Reference Link
"An airless plaza where a fountain with three statues of faceless female figures performing a frozen dance above it. They wear elaborate silks, but their faceless heads are uncovered. Cool, refreshing air bubbles up from the fountain's spigots and forms a gently flowing pool in its basin. Faceless fish swim in the basin of air, unable to exit it into the airless space above."
Thanks to the glitchy nature of Echo Providence, the dancer-statues are sentient beings that possess a soul but don't count as an entity or entities mana-pattern-wise (and are incapable of normal communication, except via scanning results). Thanks to a quirk of the area, it counts as distinct from the surrounding area of Echo Providence, and thus no hostile spawns appear within it- the site counts as its own 'location' and has its own area mana pattern, meaning that it is distinct from, though held within, the greater mana pattern of Echo Providence. One of its mana pattern's traits is that it does not share the surrounding area's spawn table, and it, oddly, does not have a slot in its own mana pattern to acquire a standard spawn table. Instead, the terrain feature that takes the form of the three dancers is, abstandardly, able to filter mana from the area and channel it either into itself, reinforcing its structure, back out into the exterior area, or into the pond (to make air or fish). It also emanates an ongoing sanctity-type effect that blocks the overall nature of Echo Providence from altering it to have a spawn table with entities and from forcing its existing spawn table's entities to spawn there, as well as discouraging wandering monsters from outside from entering the area. The exact details of the setup are mildly more complex than that, relying on quirks of null, subspace architecture, geomancy, and theoretical element manipulation to work. The fountain can, if money is deposited in it and a wish is made, sometimes make a wisher able to breathe air, sometimes make a wisher able to drink air, and sometimes transplant a wisher's soul into a newly-spawned fish. Was made a great deal more stable and potent due to Ser <NameValueNotAssigned> the Carp Knight the Carp Knight, a spawned Aerial Pondfish-turned-knight, having eaten a Triplehyperplatinum Grand Guardian and subsequently wishing for an abundant wealth of mana to allow for Draconics' creations to flourish in Echo Providence.

->->->->Nihilarchitects' Base Reference Link
One of the few 'permanent' areas of Echo Providence, and reasonably stable in terms of location.

A powerful currency-focused golem.

Items

[[Spear]] Reference Link
One of the glitchy weapons used (and potentially dropped) by [Weapon Slot]s. Likely Null element.

Triplehyperplatinum Reference Link
An absurdly valuable metal.

Notes

The Wind-Dancer created by Draconics was noted as temporary if he didn't spend the XP to make it permanent. He didn't, but stated that if he found a source of XP later, he would have done. Given reality glitched itself even more than usual due to [UNIVERSAL EXISTENCE FAILURE], the created entity's fate could have gone either way. Or possibly both. Echo Providence is weird.

The result of one of the Singing Trashcan's demands in order to let an Arena Member pass it in the Library of the Lorekeepers. Lady Thelrain gets "Curator of the Town Museum on the First Disc of Nexus. Due to a draw from a Deck of Many Things, is in love with the Shielding Golem." added to her entry.

Nega-Geddoe should have "Due to an extremely complicated product using the Forge of Aeons, a range of high-tier weapons and materials, and the inadvertant creation of a space-and-science-cleaving sentient Sword of Vashna, was defeated and turned into *Sword-Geddoe. Or was he?" added to his entry.

The Stormkeeper should have "Currently gaining a new powerset due to Cael bringing him samples of unusual travel-blocking fog-of-war stormclouds from his involvement in the Ascension of Thandolmann" added to his entry.

Valcont gets "A goateed man in a black suit" added to his description.

Zlaedon needs the description "a handsome individual, with jet black hair and cool blue eyes. He wears glistening silver plate armor, has a dove-white cape, and holds a large, glowing sword with a handguard shaped like a pair of angelic wings."

Bertram's description should become "An ex-guard evacuee from the Silver City. An axeman working on becoming a mage. Has found employment in Nexus."

Vivian's description should become "An ex-guard evacuee from the Silver City. An archer and a swordswoman Has found employment in Nexus.."

Erisandre should gain the description "a black-haired woman sprawled over the throne fiddling with a crystal ball. She is wearing red robes and seems frustrated." She also needs the Deceased tag and the addition "killed by Arena Members backed by Naria."
Erisandre was mentioned as being the 'designated successor of the Silver City', despite the Queen mentioning 'Illandras'. Presumably they're the same person. (Perhaps a forename and surname?)

Onjiru should get the description "a male demon cloaked in an exotic single-piece cloth outfit with rune patterns adorning it, whose flesh is sunken down to the bones, whose eyes are like tiny reddish points in seas of blackness, who has a scorpion-like tail, and who has a bladed staff resting against his chair."

Lady Vhaz'Loss should get the description "an alluring, dark-skinned female figure wearing a dress made of tightly-woven spider webs who has a crown with a jade scarab inset into it perched atop her head"

Professor Amerigandan apparently also used to be called "Professor Amelstern" or "Professor Ahmalnstrin". Alternatively, one's his forename and the other his surname. Professor Amelstern/Ahmalnstrin Amerigandan is a pretty decent name. Or, for maximum gravitas, Professor Ahmalnstrin Amelstern Amerigandan.
According to this, Amerigandan was one of the backers for the Mana Cannon Project. This likely needs mentioning in his description.

Gillingman should get the description "He appears to be an old man, wearing black, skeleton-adorned robed finery with a dark black surgeon's apron draped over the top. His skull-tipped staff hangs in his right hand, eyes glowing with green fire. In contrast to the stave's blazing eyes, Gillingman's own appear to be cold and dead."

Malburgeon should get the description "A tall, musular gentleman in golden armor with an axe of pure light in his hands and wings of holy energy. His hair is white, his eyes are wise, and his face carries the weight of experience."

Asaratain needs the 'deceased' tag and "destroyed by Maleficus after the Dome of the Lich Lord quest." Asaratain was also supposed to be female, apparently.

Milton Brewster gains the description "a slightly overweight, balding man in his late forties"

Winthrop gains the description "A gray haired man wearing a black suit and tie"

Lady Amelia gains the description "A woman, probably in her early twenties, sits in a white chair reading a book on the downfall of the giants while sipping herbal tea from a florally-patterned cup. She is wearing a green, Victorian-style dress and large diamond earrings; her smile is comforting, her eyes are a deep green, and her hair is long and brown."

Garganthelo gains the description "A gigantic, six-legged, blue-furred, purple-maned, lion with blazing eyes and sharp teeth."

Trensdekk gains "has a Random Battle mechanic that pulls people in dungeons or encounter areas into battles with foes after the requisite reality-whirling transition."

Apparently, the Labyrinth of Paper Cranes on Dol-Quorsis was originally called the Labyrinth of Paper Snowfall. Given it seems to have switched pretty firmly to 'Cranes and Origami' on the subsequent visits, I think altering the Places name to 'Labyrinth of Paper Cranes' may be called for. Also because origami and cranes are more stylish than just paper snow.

Gilbezber needs to have "Destroyed by the Man in a Hazmat Suit" added to it. And then possibly a 'rebuilt by Doctor Beak upon his resurrection' added to it.

Alterations may need to be made to the Dusk Realm and its subcategories, as the entire thing was broken up by Gillingman as noted here.

The Silver City needs the description "a massive city whose buildings are constructed from enchanted silver. Like glistens off of the domed building rooftops and crenellated towers, reflecting onto the silver-bricked streets. Many people walk the streets in rich, resplendant clothing. A few coaches can also be seen, drawn by horses."

The Silver City should get the note "also known as the City of Silver Glory"

The Silver City needs "overtaken by Naria after the defeat of Erisandre" added to its description.

Castle Pelronde should gain "Contains many items left by Talrusion himself, although a large number were taken by Naria and a group of Arena Members. Also contains a fake shard of the Worldstone designed to send the overly-greedy into a holding dimension for a few weeks."

The Ruins of Airalaunth and Black Fortress of Dalgoth Lyhon's entries should gain the description "dungeon complexes that allegedly contain one-third of a map to the Fulcrum of Night".

Untemplated Element Core
The pride of the Elemental Research Institute. With one of these, a person can declare into being an entirely new element (or recreate a lost one)! How potent the result is usually depends on the person's power and skill level, and how much potential the element has depends on how well it was thought out. Presumably these two factors are not mutually exclusive. Badly-thought-out elements (such as 'Bill's Swords' and 'STEVE'S Version of Law') tend not to stick around or fail to create ability classes. Thousands were created, and subsequently lost during one of the several destructive incidents to hit the ERI. Most were recovered or destroyed, and a handful remain out in the Universe somewhere in exceptionally hard-to-reach places.
