Re: Special Matches
Pet Battle-
The player desiring to enter an pet battle posts "(Character Name)'s pet (Pet Type) enters a Pet Battle against (Monsters)" as a thread title in the Battle Threads and Random Quests area. There may be 1-5 monsters of any type in the fight. The monsters drop no gold or items. The monsters give double XP, which must be given to the participating pet.
You cannot have a pet in a pet battle that you could not use normally. If you don't have enough MP to summon it, it can't participate. If it's too high level to be equipped, it can't participate. If it can only be controlled by Aerials and you're an Aquatic, it can't participate.
Pet battles count towards your 5 battles per day limit if you have any of your pets in them.
A pet battle including some of a character's pets cannot be run while that character's random quests and arena matches slot is full, just like any other Specialty Match.

Re: Special Matches
Risky Match-
A character must fight this match alone, though pets and summons are still allowed. The character must face five enemies, and all must be at least 3 levels higher than the participating character. If the player wins, enemy XP is doubled and all enemies automatically drop 1 treasure.

Area Match-
Up to five characters may participate in this match. The player who starts this thread chooses an Encounter Area that he or she can access from Nexus. Re: Special Matches
Harvesting Match-
Up to 5 characters may participate in this match. This match counts as two matches for purposes of daily arena matches. The players fight up to 100 monsters of the same type. At the beginning of the match, the players involved each one choose one potentially droppable item on the monster. The monsters give no Gold or XP. The monsters roll for treasure per character normally, but only items of the chosen type are obtained by players. Players may not sell the items they designate for two months after the most recent time they have been designated as items in this type of match.
Chances of items dropping in a Harvesting Match are doubled, to a max of 100%. This change occurs before other modifications to drop rate chances.

Re: Special Matches
Secret PvP Match-
Two players (or two teams) of up to any number of PCs fight each other, with one creating a thread and issuing a challenge, and the other deciding whether to accept. XP rewards are determined by Gadigan.
Which PCs are involved in the fight are initially posted, but statblocks should not be posted. A mod who is on neither side of the battle is to declare in the thread that they will run the match, and both sides Private Message their statblocks to said mod. Said mod is to run the battle with both teams treating the other as opposing monsters in a random quest for purposes of what information is known, with PCs being treated as bosses for purposes of having their stats scanned.

Re: Special Matches
Alternative Boss Rush!-
Up to eight players may participate in this match. Players fight a string of bosses without pause between submatches.
A mod then randomly chooses 3 level 1 bosses, which the character then fights one-at-a-time in separate battles. The rewards listed below are appropriated at the submatch's end. Assuming the character wins the submatch, then the mod randomly chooses 3 level 2 bosses for the character to fight one-at-a-time in separate battles. This process continues, with the boss level going up by 1 each submatch or until the player dies. The same boss may be chosen multiple times for the same level only if not enough bosses are present at said level for at least three different bosses to be encountered. If the max boss level is reached and defeated by a player, contact Gad.
All rulings that apply to the normal Boss Rush mode apply to the Alternative Boss Rush except where noted.
Normal XP, Gold, and Items are not rewarded. Special alternative boss rush prizes, as well as an "Has Defeated Defeated Three Level X Bosses in the Alternative Boss Rush Mode" award will be given to players as they progress.
A boss that was part of the rush may not be carried from one battle to another as part of a PC side (even if it stops counting as a boss).
Players get 500 XP and 10,000 Gold per # that their "Has Defeated Three Level X Bosses in the Alternative Boss Rush Mode" award increases by.
For Beating three Level 5 bosses (the first time)- 25,000 XP, 250,000 Gold, 1 Fame
For Beating three Level 10 bosses (the first time)- 50,000 XP, 500,000 Gold, 1 Fame

Re: Special Matches
Pet Endurance Match-
The player desiring to enter an endurance match posts "(Character Name) Begins a Pet Endurance Match" as a thread title in the Battle Threads and Random Quests area.
A team of up to 6 pets and summons (not counting summons from the Enemy List), may enter this match. No more than 1 summon may come from the same spell or other item or ability as part of said team.
In the first submatch, a mod randomly chooses 3 Level 1 monsters, which the pet team then fights. Assuming the character team the submatch, then the mod randomly chooses 3 monsters of that are a Level equal to (The pervious submatch's Level plus one). This process continues, with the monster level going up by 1 each submatch or until the pet team loses. If the max monster level is reached and defeated by a team, contact Gad.
The PC joining the Pet Endurance Match, as well as any unique pets in the match, gain the "Has Reached Round X in an Endurance Match" title.
The only rewards beyond said award provided by said match are the XP for the enemies defeated (not including summons), with each pet or summon on the PC out of the six participants gaining said full quantity of XP.
Only enemies that are normally fightable for drops may appear as randomly chosen enemies in the Pet Endurance Match.
Pets that could not normally be summoned, equipped, or controlled by the PC entering this match cannot participate in it.
Each of the six chosen pets and summons in the pet endurance match gains 3 Summon Slots.
The award provided by the Pet Endurance Match should state 'Pet Endurance Match' instead of simply 'Endurance Match'.
Up to 6 PCs may participate in a Pet Endurance Match at a time. Any PC participating must have at least one approved pet or summon participating.
Only the pets and summons belonging to PCs participating in a Pet Endurance Match may participate in said Pet Endurance Match.

Re: Special Matches
Alcoholic Match-
It's like a PVP Arena Match, but for 12 rounds, with round numbers not being changeable by anyone or resettable, at the end of each round, each individual's total Poison: Drunk affliction chance from the source of each Poison: Drunk instance that is currently affecting it, with automatic 'Inflicts Poison: Drunk' instances only counting as 100%, is tallied, then summed up for each side of battle, and the grand total at the end of 12 rounds of battle that is highest is the winning side's total, with other methods of winning battles not applying, even if added on top of this
