We own the citadel and have a small empire under our control, many of which are taking up the arts of crafting.

The crimson citadel is a large, red, magical, shifting castle with walls and an inner keep. It has a lot of rooms, and areas can be shaped to fit whatever is needed.
We've still got the old house. It has got a grill and some nice golf clubs in it. There's a tool shed somewhere on the grounds.

Guardians/Workers
A few puppets patrol the lands, keeping trouble to a minimum. Several towns are being built. Ten wanderer puppets provide the real power behind the empire, though many lesser runic constructs also help keep order and aid the citizens. The daccenburg engine was here before Lili left on PoS, so there are a fair number of Corperate Zombies and the like wandering around.

And I think magic attacks are more prevalent than the other two types. We could simply wait to get a more expensive benefit with broader appeal, however.

Maybe we have different understandings of how those benefits work? You've gotta buy them, you know. And a guild can only have benefits up to the combined antiquity and property amount. I think that means total, not individual.

Oh yeah, and to clarify, is Kit(character, not player) accepted as well as Beth(just a character)?

Wriggle Nightsparrow wrote: Doh, Doh, and yes. I updated things to reflect this. Do we wanna wait on the guild stuff? I'm guessing gad is gonna throw some new stuff on sometime soon... maybe. We could wait for that in hopes it would be better.

Also, do you guys want titles for each person? That's easy to do, and (I think) it adds a bit of flavor.

Also, I added honorary members for anyone who wants to be in it but doesn't plan to regularly participate.

Also, is kevin in this? He posted in here and was interested, but I'm still not sure.

PaperGolem wrote: I'm cool with waiting. I've got no rush, and that stuff is expensive.

I'm also cool with titles. We could have ourselves titled by the types of things we craft. Puppeteer, Necromancer, and such. Not very flashy, though.

I asked gad a bit about this and he explained how a lot of the stuff works to some extent. The spear can control the citadel, shifting structures, fixing areas, creating walls... That sort of thing. The citadel itself is like a huge, crimson castle with outer walls and an inner keep that spawns the monsters encountered in the quest over time (it might spawn treasure too, but that's undecided). Again, the spear controls the citadel so its shifting nature isn't a problem and the route to the kitchen and probably the bathrooms(along with a lot of other rooms) is going to be pretty fixed. The minions spawned are loyal to Lili and her allies, so having to fight your way through people is quite unnessisary. On the other hand, though, I could have gotten stuff wrong to some extent and he said it does other stuff too. Exactly what the citadel can and does do are subject to change at gad's whims, as is most stuff that isn't quite specified. Another thing to say is that the experimental spear is open to all guild users to utilize as long as they keep it in the citadel, and it can control the citadel to at least a decent extent.

((Also, there was mention of townsfolk associated with this thing. I'm curious about that as well. It sounds like we'd need to start up a whole infrastructure of farming and housing and whatnot.))

I was sort of hoping they'd build their own homes with time, if they were given land to live on, food to eat, and constructs to help them work, and they can all live in the citadel until those are finished. I already have something of a food system set up; I made a
Farm with Serfs - (Item, Property, Earth, 95,000 Gold) (which I am now adding to the guild)
a bit back. I was told that was a decently big farm and could feed everyone, though it would be a bit strained (apparently, though, the citadel keeps those in it from needing food; it isn't that much of a problem because of this). I'm hoping that they will eventually set up their own method of feeding themselves, along with everything else they need. As is, though, it isn't too much of a pressing problem. I was thinking to try planning out some towns in the nearby area and giving people free rein to start developing on the <largely uninhabitted land> as much as they like, electing their own mayors and whatnot if they want to and relaying stuff every-so-often to Lili via town communication puppet thingies. I'd like to keep Lili in general control of things so conflicts don't start, but she'll probably employ clerks to do most of the work and only step in when trouble starts and to defend the people from monsters, bandits, and stuff. Guild members are welcome to help with the setting up of stuff, if they want to. Tersel does need to get that office, though... I did promise him one. Would a specific room in the citadel decked out with clerk stuff serve his purposes or does he want something special? <I'm not trying to cajole him into becoming a clerk, for the record>

((Actually since Lili has the real spear she can control the citadel itself...including the whole "Don't attack everyone that comes in" thing.))

The citadel is currently in friendly mode. Visiters are welcome until they start causing trouble or stealing stuff, though they are monitered. To be noted, though, the store room is off limits to the general public (as in no doorways go in or out of it, and one of the spears must be used to access it) and guarded by six wanderers (and will be linked to the golem as soon as I can set that up).

A person-sized godzilla with carpet skin appears and bows to the wanderer puppts before trying to enter.

The wanderer puppet bows back, and motions for it to come inside.
"What brings you here, sir?"

Kevin asks one of the patrolling Marionette if he can talk to Lili for a second, he made something that may...well, maybe...be of use to her.

"Lili isn't here right now, but she should be back soon. Would you like to come inside for some tea while you wait for her?"

Alrick stops by to talk with Lili about the puppet he would like made. Said puppet should:
1. Look like Jessie (or a chibi Jessie).
2. Like punching things (in other words, be a fist fighter).
3. Preferably be electric or technology element.
4. Have some type of healing or health transfer move (whichever would be stronger with its stat division).
5. Possibly have an ability or move that would allow it to take enemy attacks instead of Jessie (optional, but would be nice).

Alrick would like a cost estimate and he can answer any questions Lili may have about the proposed puppet.

Wriggle Nightsparrow wrote: Doogle is escorted into the citadel by a mirage puppet and into Lili's workshop. Inanimate and half-finished puppets, dolls, marionettes, and a few golems are scattered around the room somewhat haphazardly, several laid out on workbenches surrounded by tools and many hanging from the ceiling by strings. Various runic designs and drawings adorn numerous items throughout the room. In an out-of-the-way corner, Lili sits in a comfortable chair in a small heap of cushions staring intently at a laptop while her hands move at an incredible speed across the keyboard. She doesn't notice that you have entered for a while, but eventually she looks up and sees you. After examining the cannon critically, she looks up and shakes her head.

While you did improve it a little bit, I wouldn't say this is good enough to constitute entry. Still, it looks like you worked pretty hard on this and you didn't make it any worse... Huh. I'll give you another chance. Take these...
*Lili gets down rummages around in her desk for about ten seconds, then pulls a small collection of gears out.*
...and make yourself some sort of clockwork construct. You said you were a gear-smith; it shouldn't be hard for you. Be careful not to waste them; they are fairly hard to come by. Show me what you make and if it runs properly I'll admit you.

Lili offers doogle: Magical Gears- (Item, Material, Magic & Technology, 26,000 Gold)

To alrick:
1. Look like Jessie (or a chibi Jessie).
I can do this without trouble. (It probably won't be specifically represented in the item, but Lili can alter most constructs appearance without much of a problem so unless it turns out as a six-armed monkey or something you can assume it looks like jessie)
2. Like punching things (in other words, be a fist fighter).
Giving it the ability to punch things isn't the most difficult thing to do. Consider that done.
3. Preferably be electric or technology element.
I'll try; things sometimes turn out oddly.
4. Have some type of healing or health transfer move (whichever would be stronger with its stat division).
I should be able to incorporate this in there.
5. Possibly have an ability or move that would allow it to take enemy attacks instead of Jessie (optional, but would be nice).
This may be more difficult for me to do, but I'll attempt to give it this quality.

On another note, I am a bit busy at the moment. If you would give me a hand in making it, I could get it done much faster. You might learn a bit of my trade while you're at it, as well. If you want it to be done well, I could help you make a manual for making things of the same sort beforehand. (I would like to use your combo slots, if possible.) Now, do you want it to be a puppet or a doll? I would think a doll would be more appropriate, given that jessie is more the female type. If you would like it to be more powerful I could make it into a golem... But I'm not sure that is what you want. Some of my stuff comes out with may seem like a slightly evil tint; would you like me to try hard to avoid that or do you not mind?

JTL9000 wrote: "I'd be happy to help in any way I can." Alrick quickly replies (though both his quest and battle slots are tied up at the moment. (I believe I currently only have 1 1/2 open but I can temporarily cancel the level up for Alrick's Living Boquet if needed.) "As for a puppet or a doll... She may be a girl but she's not particularily feminen. Is there any practical differences between the two? Either way, I think I'd rather have a puppet or doll than a golem. And yeah, the less evil the better, so try to keep that out if you can."

Wriggle Nightsparrow wrote: Noted. Dolls are more feminine and tend to be more humanoid than puppets. I have a vague idea in my head so far that will require three steps (one for the book, one for the base, and one for the actual) and cost around 400K total. If that is too much, I'd be happy to make something less powerful. As I think I've said, I am better at making summoning spells than I am at making constructs but I can certainly give it a try.\

<Oh and as a side note... I could be wrong but I'm led to believe the Living Boquet is a somewhat terrible pet. Leveling it up probably won't be worth your time if you want something strong; I can't see that thing ever being very good. If you want something cool from botanica and can get to the shop again, I'd say try to get a Warbriar Bush. Those things are really powerful and very cheap for what you get. Weak pets generally don't give you much return for the time and effort you put into them.>

JTL9000 wrote: More humanoid might be good... I'll go with your judgement on the doll vs. puppet issue. 400k is fine...though depending on how a couple things pan out I might have to pay you in installments, if that's ok. Alrick would also be willing to help out with quests, material farming, and the like to pay off part of the debt if you'd be interested.

(Actually I kinda have something else in mind for the Living Boquet but I figured I'd toss it 1000 XP first and see what it looks like at level 2 just in case it starts to get more interesting. Alrick's primary pet is Vash the Prototype Wardroid, which I'll probably attempt to combo into a fancier form in the future (have a vague plan for said combo, but none of the required materials yet).)

To Alrick-
Installments are fine. Not to be rude, but the materials I would be interested in hunting are, for the most part, above your current capabilities. We'll need to obtain a golomancy spell to make the book, probably pawn thunder or pawn ice; 5% drops from ivory pawns. The other alternative is cube smash, but that would be difficult to obtain quickly. If you could get one of those and about 100K for me, I could get started on the book.

Alrick now knows Basic Golomancy Attunement. You're free to do the combo using Alrick's slot and ability. Basic Engineer Proficiency- (Passive Ability, Engineer) Character gains +3 to all stats for each Upgrade, Bioaugmentation, or Gadget equipped
Basic Hypertech Attunement- (Passive Ability, Scientist) All Hypertech spells gain +10 Magical Attack and cost 10 less MP
Basic Programming Skills- (Passive Ability, Scientist) All possessor’s Robot, Clockwork, and Machine pets and summons gain +40 to all stats
Tinker- (Active Ability, Engineer) Character may change (10 x possessor level) points of bonus to any one stat provided by an Upgrade, Bioaugmentation, or Gadget to a bonus to any one other stat as an action, this may not be done before threads, this may only be done once per thread per item
Mathematical Knowledge- (Passive Ability, Scientist) +150 MIN that is counted as unmodified for capping purposes

So mostly he could contribute to attempts at internal electronics, electronics warfare systems, and basic construction. The amount of raw materials he could contribute are rather limited at this point however. Most of it is already spoken for.

Tersel also notes a willingness to contribute about 100k towards a guild summoning chamber.

I suppose forgoing the golem angle and going for something more like a toy doll or puppet wouldn't make it any easier? My only other idea would be using buying a human pet of some sort and trying to combo it into a suitable base, though Alrick would be opposed to that on a moral basis even if it did work... I suppose what we'd really need would be a punching puppet or an action figure (With Realistic Punching Action!) to use as a base.

When you talk about Dusty's pet, I assume you mean the Silver Warlord. Seems somewhat overpriced for its stats (though Reflective Form is pretty nice) but, with a bit of comboing, it could work. I'll see what he'd be willing to sell it for.

As for the clockwork version, it could work though I'd prefer something less mechanical.

Oh, strange thought but what if we bought a camera from the store, took some photos of Jessie, and tossed that into a stage of the combo? Seems like it would either do nothing or sway the combo towards something like her...

PaperGolem wrote: Actually, Wriggle already approached me, and Dusty has already sold the Silver Warlord to Lili.

Wriggle Nightsparrow wrote: Flavor text can be altered to fit the form; if we had just combed the silver warlord, for instance, it could be a 12 foot golem-version of jessie instead of a 12' silver iron golem. I think we can make this work. It *probably* won't be as cool as the golden warlord I made a while back, but it should be good enough to hold its own against the guardian golems. I think. It might even make one, come to think of it.
If you would like me to think something else up, I could *probably* make something else that would work... But it will be about 1/3 as cool. If you would much rather it be a small doll or toy for RP reasons, though, I'll make that. For something else, we'd need to combo up a base and use stuff like basic puppet designs or basic toy designs to make what you're thinking of. It is entirely your choice, sir; I bet I could make something that would work with the other version as well if I spend some time at it.
Also as a note, dusty seems to have sold the golem for less than I thought he would; 300K. I'm keeping and using the thing if you don't want to, and this also reduces the price to about 500-600K + combos + an event match for the final result of the golem thing.

Patchy, you have three options.

1. (the one I would rather you do)
Call this a guild project and Lili (who speaks for the guild on matters like this, though if over half the other council members disagree she will defer to them) will flat out give you the orbs, and arrange for a way to move the things as well. You'll get the stuff and make the pet, then you'll donate the completed pet to the guild. You will be the primary owner, and will be able to pretty much completely control the pet, take it around and on quests, combo it again, or whatever.

2.
You pay the guild... Let's say 250K for the pedestals and the orbs and I will also arrange a way for you to move the things out.

3.
Ask one of your guild members to help you get the items you are looking for.

On another note, I am instituting two new guild policies.

First:
Any guild member can declare that they are making a guild project. They must put forward the idea, and if either 1/3 the council or Lili agrees that it is a good idea that would benefit the guild they can use guild resources and/or <basic, usually> member abilities (provided said members agree to this, which they are encouraged to) to make the result and also organize teams to gather the required resources. After the result comes out, it is immediately donated to the guild and the person who has most contributed to it (usually the person who started it) are designated as the primary owner. A primary owner is allowed to take the result on quests, use it every day in battles, and essentially owns it. There are is only one real difference from the normal; if the primary owner dies permanently or leave the guild, the pet goes back to the guild and a new primary owner is assigned (If there is a good reason for leaving the guild, the person will probably be allowed to take the item with them). There may be multiple owners in a few cases; in this case Lili or the council will see that it is shared properly.

Second:
This isn't supposed to be a dictatorship. Lili is the council head and makes the decisions for convenience's sake, but I'm instituting a rule where if 1/2 (1/3 for things I deem serious and/or dangerous) the council members disagree with Lili's ruling on a certain matter, they can overturn Lili's decision in favor of a new one. I also welcome complaints and/or declarations of ill content being voiced. I don't want people simmering, thinking something is unfair; I want things to move smoothly. I would genuinely like this guild to work. Also, I'm saying we need 3/4 of the active council members to vote in favor of any aggressions on the guild's behalf.

For use buying stuff for the tank, it should be noted. The golem's getting money because it is going to be paying for the tank stuff. In the future, I'd say donate it to the guild treasury.

Ixion is also approved. I'll call him "Blacksmith".

I am also moving the golem from the honorary member list to the actual member list; he does almost as much crafting as Lili.

Then she was hit by the whole weight of her situation.

Patchouli Knowledge, who did everything in her power to obtain and preserve knowledge, lost all of it, not a trace left, twice.

Patchy Wisdom failed.
Patchouli Knowledge failed her friends, those who put their faith into her hardworking nature.
Patchy Wisdom also failed her closest friend, the one she could not protect, the one who lost her freedom because of Patchouli's own ineptitude.

I had been saving up to pay your for him but, if you think this version would make a better base we coulb probably get started right away. I'm gonna bring Charming onboard to help with costs and the two of them together could pretty much pay off the first combo entirely now.

As for the materials themselves... I'm not entirely sure that Arbandic Gnomish Brass would be the best material to use, but you've got more experience than me with big combos so I'll trust your judgement. The second combo looks pretty good, though I might be able to think of something a bit better than a Hair Ribbon by the time we get to that point.

Wriggle Nightsparrow wrote: I thought about this for a while, and i think the warlord would turn the combo into a big beefy golem pretty much no-matter what else goes into it. This doesn't seem like what you want, though it may be more physically powerful, so I think this is the best way to go.

The first combo is essentially to make a humanoid golemish base. It is pretty important to start with a proper base, and there is nothing in the shop to work with so we have to make the proper thing. The brass may lean it towards some sort of clockwork-y thing; the alternative is doing the...

5 Magic Silver Ore- (Item, Material, Magic, 50,000 Gold)
5 Magic Copper Ore- (Item, Material, Magic, 5,000 Gold)

Then trying to refine those into something useful and making it out of that. The problem with that is the ore is magic element; not something we tremendously want in the combo. Still, that may turn out better if you want to try that.

As far as the ribbon goes, it was to make it more feminine actually. If you want me to leave that out, it probably won't effect much.

JTL9000 wrote: I figured the ribbon was for something like that, and it's not a bad idea, I just think I might be able to find an item that would work better in that regard. But we'll see...

As for the rest, I think the ores may work better than the brass. I'll get to work on the event match right after we finish the bartender fight. Though I'll probably need some help due to the environmental effects so, if any of your characters want to join in, they're welcome to.

I was thinking to keep it with just the pants, but the choice to put in the gear is a tough one. It likely wouldn't hurt.
